The Action Alliance (AA) has dropped its petition against the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
On Monday, the party announced their withdrawal at the pre-hearing session of the presidential election tribunal.
The petition’s major contention was that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) wrongfully excluded the party’s candidate, David Okanigbuan.
Oba Maduabuchi, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), leads the party’s legal staff. Following the revelation of the Action Alliance’s plans, no representatives from the other parties indicated objection to the proposal.
As a result, the panel determined that “in the absence of any objection from the respondents, the application is hereby granted.” As a result, the petition is rejected.”
According to The Guardian, the presidential election petitions tribunal is led by Justice Haruna Tsamani (Abuja Division) and includes Stephen Adah (Abuja Division), Misitura Bolaji-Yusuf (Asaba Division), Boloukuromo Ugo (Kano Division), and Abba Mohammed (Ibadan Division).
