A Lagos court has convicted AAC Consulting Limited for stealing over ₦30.5 million belonging to contract staff of Chevron Nigeria Limited.
Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja delivered the verdict on Friday, January 23, 2026, after the company pleaded guilty to an amended one-count charge brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
AAC Consulting Limited was arraigned by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the EFCC on January 12, 2026, for stealing, contrary to Section 285(1) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.

The case dates back to June 5, 2023, when the company and its managing director, Anthony Adeoye, were docked on a 50-count charge bordering on stealing and issuance of dud cheques. Both defendants initially pleaded not guilty, leading to a full trial.
During the proceedings, prosecuting counsel I O Daramola called two witnesses and tendered documentary evidence admitted by the court.
However, after the defendants repaid the full sum of ₦30,564,635.81 to the petitioner in December 2023, they changed their plea to guilty. The EFCC subsequently amended the charge, leaving the company to face a single count of stealing.
The charge stated that AAC Consulting Limited dishonestly converted the sum of ₦30.56 million, property of Chevron Nigeria Limited’s contract staff, for its own use.
Justice Oshodi convicted the company and ordered it to pay a fine of ₦5 million within 14 days. The court ruled that failure to comply would result in the company being wound up.
