Dowen College’s management has expressed condolences to Sylvester Oromoni Jr.’s family.
Oromoni was allegedly beaten to death by fellow students. Some of the suspects are on the run right now.
According to a statement issued on Sunday, the deceased was a “beacon of light” loved by all.
It acknowledged that the “unfortunate incident and death” necessitates a thorough and proper investigation.
Dowen College stated that it is fully committed to conducting an investigation and assisting authorities in determining the cause of the tragedy.
“At this time of intense grief and suffering, emotions are raw, and tensions are high.
“We pray that God, who alone knows how to comfort the sorrowing, will comfort Sylvester’s family and all those who loved and knew him.”
The statement reassured parents that precautions were being taken to ensure the safety and security of their children and wards.
Last Friday, the Lagos State Government closed the school pending the outcome of an investigation.
