Customers on DStv and GOtv can look forward to extended action from La Liga and Serie A, with matches scheduled to run from Tuesday 26 to Thursday 28 October 2021.

The top clash for the legendary La Liga sees Real Madrid welcome Osasuna to Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday, 27 October 2021 at 8:30pm on SuperSport La Liga (DStv channel 204 and GOtv channel 32), with Los Blancos chasing a home victory and looking to keep up their ambitions of reclaiming the title.

“It is always difficult to have a midweek league match, especially straight after playing in the Clasico,” said Real manager Carlo Ancelotti, in reference to his side taking on Barcelona in ‘El Clasico’ the weekend prior.

“But this is our job and our responsibility. We will focus on each game at a time and pay our opponents the full respect they deserve. Maintaining our standards and pushing for victory, always, that is the Real Madrid way.”

Barcelona, meanwhile, will travel to Rayo Vallecano – a team which has punched above its weight thus far in La Liga and will be eager to claim the scalp of the beleaguered heavyweights. The Franjirrojos boast the talents of veteran Colombian striker Radamel Falcao, who has quickly become a cult hero at the club. “Rayo doesn’t tend to have players with his history,” said manager Andoni Iraola. This match will air on Wednesday, 27 October 2021 at 6pm on SuperSport La Liga.

Champions Atletico Madrid will travel to the East coast to take on Levante on Thursday, 28th October 2021 at 8:30pm on SuperSport La Liga, with manager Diego Simeone hoping his team can keep up the work rate and intensity which brought them success prior to the international break earlier this month.

Other key matches include Sevilla travelling to Mallorca on Wednesday, 27 October 2021 at 6pm on SuperSport Variety 4 (DStv channel 209) and SuperSport Select 2 (GOtv channel 34), a key match at the bottom of the log between strugglers Granada and Getafe on Thursday, 28 October 2021 at 7pm on SuperSport Variety 3 (DStv channel 208), Real Sociedad looking to get the better of Espanyol in Catalonia, and a potential thriller between Real Betis and Valencia on Wednesday, 27 October at 7pm on SuperSport Action (DStv channel 210).

Betis boss Manuel Pellegrini has expressed his pride over the way his team has performed thus far in 2021-22: “The greatest happiness must be found in terms of the performance of the team. They’re playing with the personality to beat any rival. Hopefully we can maintain this dynamic for as long as possible.”

This midweek round of Serie A action opens with three matches on Tuesday 26 October, the pick of which sees AC Milan welcome Torino to the San Siro at 7:45pm on SuperSport Football (DStv channel 205 & GOtv channel 31) and SuperSport Select 1 (GOtv channel 33). The Rossoneri have enjoyed a strong start to the campaign and look very capable title contenders, but they must be able to cope with a busy schedule and increased intensity compared to the last campaign.

Wednesday 27 October sees a further six matches, including Juventus at home to Sassuolo at 5:30pm on SuperSport Football and SuperSport Select 1, Atalanta away to Sampdoria at 5:30pm on SuperSport Variety 3, Internazionale travelling to take on Empoli at the Carlo Castellani Stadium at 7:45pm on SuperSport Football and SuperSport Select 1, and a potential thriller between Lazio and Fiorentina at 7:45pm on SuperSport Variety 2 (DStv channel 207) – two teams who have been amongst the most attack-minded in Italy this term.

Thursday 28 October features just one match, but it could be a crucial one in the title race, as Scudetto hopefuls Napoli welcome Bologna to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona at 7:45pm on SuperSport Football and SuperSport Select 1. Neapolitans manager Luciano Spalletti has attempted to take the pressure off his team by insisting that staying at or near the top of the log is not a priority at this moment.
