The defending champions of the Olympic men’s football, Brazil have began their Olympic campaign with a scintillating win over Germany.

Despite having a penalty saved, Brazil displayed their dominance with a 4-2 win against the Germans.

Everton striker, Richarlison scored a hat-trick in the first forty-five minutes of the game before Paulinho sealed the fate of the Germans with a brilliant finish.

France, however got off to a rocky start as they were beaten 4-1 by Mexico. Although the european team were able to secure one, it was not enough to withstand the decimation of the mexicans.

Elsewhere, Spain were held to a disappointing goalless draw by Egypt. The Spainish team which comprised several members of the Euro 2020 squad were unable to make any impact in the match as the Egyptians prove a tough nut to crack.
