According to the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), the accident occurred around 11:30am and involved six persons.

According to reports, it took the combined efforts of rescuers from FRSC, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) to evacuate affected vehicles from the bridge and clear the road of impending traffic.

Although the cause of the accident was not stated, the FRSC said the truck driver fled the scene before arrival of emergency workers.
