    Christopher Wallace popularly known as Notorious B.I.G (May 21, 1972 – March 9, 1997)

Notorious B.I.G changed the game, yes he did. He had the lyrics, the rap, the style and along with all that he had New York City with him.

Born Christopher George Latore Wallace on May 21, 1972, Biggie was raised in the Brooklyn borough of New York City.

Although Biggie spent 24 years on earth he left a legacy that would last generations.

Not many know that Biggie Smalls who was killed on 9 March 1997 by an unknown assailant in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles only released one album when he was alive.

His double-disc album Life After Death were released 16 days after he was shot dead and it rose to No. 1 on the U.S. album charts and was certified Diamond in 2000, one of the few hip hop albums to receive this certification.

Biggie was noted for his “loose, easy flow”, dark semi-autobiographical lyrics and storytelling abilities, sometimes changing his pitch on songs.

After the release of Life After Death, two more albums have been released since his death and he has certified sales of 17 million units in the United States.

Biggie is reputed for being a central figure in the East Coast hip hop scene and increased New York’s visibility in the genre at a time when West Coast hip hop was dominant in the mainstream.

Twenty years on, Biggie’s influence has gone just beyond the East Coast, it has become a global phenomenon.

On social media, he was celebrated for leaving behind a legacy, a culture and a new philosophy to hip hop.
