    Nigerians celebrate Pastor Adeboye at 79

    The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, on Tuesday clocked 79 years old.

    Adeboye, born on the 2nd day in the month of March 1942, hails from Ifewara, Osun State.

    Daddy Adeboye or ‘Daddy GO’ as he is fondly called is one of the most revered men of God in Nigeria.

    He is an ardent preacher of holiness and humility. He obtained not only a Bachelor’s (BSc.) degree in Mathematics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria in 1967, but also a Masters (MSc.) Degree in Hydrodynamics and a Doctorate Degree (PhD) in Applied Mathematics, both from the University of Lagos, in 1969 and 1975 respectively.

    Adeboye joined the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 1973 which was then headed by the General Superintendent, Pastor Josiah Oluwafemi Akindayomi.

    He later became the General Overseer of RCCG in 1981 and under his administration; the Church has spread its wings across the globe. It has over 40,000 branches in 186 countries.

    Abeboye is happily married to his beloved wife, Pastor Mrs. Folu Adeboye.

    Nigerians and numerous well-wishers took to social media especially Twitter and Instagram to celebrate the preacher with the hashtag #EAA79.

    Oby Ezekwesili said, “Glorious happiest 79th birthday to Daddy E A @PastorEAAdeboye!!! A true friend of Jesus. A father who by exemplary acts teaches us his children-in-the-Lord to live purposefully. Your latter end shall be even more glorious than all your years so far in Jesus name! We love you.”

    Ekpo Michael said, “Happy birthday to a great man worthy of emulation, our father, an astute teacher, an excellent coach and an exceptional role model, Pastor Adeboye. We are grateful to God for 79 glorious years. God bless you abundantly Daddy GO we love, appreciate and celebrate you greatly.”

    Also, top Nigerian gospel artistes Nathaniel Bassey, Dunsin Oyekan and Tim Godfrey will join over 150 worship ministers and choral groups to minister at the 2021 edition of Marathon Messiah Praise tagged ‘BEHOLD THE KING’.

    The first edition was held in 2012 when The General Overseer (GO) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, clocked 70.

    This year’s event which started March 1, will hold nonstop for seventy-nine hours across six continents across 30 countries and end on March 4.
