    Africa surpasses grim milestone of 3.5 Million COVID-19 cases

    The total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries has reached 3,516,781 today, January 29, 2021.

    Reported deaths in Africa reached 88,985 and 2,990,354 people have recovered.

    South Africa has the most reported cases – 1,437,798 and 43,105 people died.

    Other most-affected countries are Morocco (469,139), Tunisia (204,351), Egypt (164,282), Ethiopia (135,594), and Nigeria (127,024).

    The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well national and regional public health departments.
