Lagos State Government has directed civil servants to work from home starting Monday 23 March in a bid to curb the spread of coronavirus pandemic in the state.
The commercial city of Nigeria has recorded 17 coronavirus cases while Nigeria has recorded 27 in total with four case in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu declared the ‘stay at home’ during a live broadcast on radio, he said, “Lagos State civil servants from Grade Level 1-12 should stay at home for the next 14 days with effect from tomorrow 23rd of March, 2020.”
According to the state government, civil servants that fall between Grade Level 1-12 constitutes 70 per cent of public workers.
“They are to stop going to work from 23rd March, 2020 for the next two weeks after which this decision will be reviewed”.
The Lagos State Government noted that all health practitioners, fire service men and all those working in other emergency sectors are excluded from the stay at home directive.

Governor Sanwo-Olu harped on the fact that all public workers are not just to sit at home doing nothing, but are expected to work from home.
