Senator Dino Melaye has blocked a transparency platform in Nigeria from demanding that he accounts for projects nominated by him in the 2018 budget.

Tracka has repeatedly demanded that Senator Melaye representing Kogi West Senatorial district account for Constituency Projects inserted in the budget for people of his constituents.

Exposing Mr. Melaye’s desperation on Twitter, Tracka explained that the senator has denied them feedback on the millions of naira voted for the projects.

“Sen @dino_melaye , blocked @TrackaNG for requesting the implementation status of projects he nominated for the people of his senatorial district,” Tracka tweeted on its official handle.

“We will continue to ask until feedbacks are provided to our request. Public funds must work for the people,” Tracka said.

Senator Melaye’s action was seen as an arrogant disposition by a public office holder in Nigeria.

Many Nigerians reacted rather angrily to his action labeling it an insult on the Nigeria people.

Olusola Jaiyeola urged Tracka not so stop asking questions. “This shows a total disregard to the citizens of Nigeria, does this mean we have no right to ask you @dino_melaye questions, pertaining project you claimed to be implementing on your district. @TrackaNG keep asking for feedback we will keep tagging him in our retweets.”

Akinjide Oyeleke echoed Jaiyeola’s position. “Citizens’ participation in governance is hampered by unpatriotic action. e.g a lawmaker of the Federal Republic of Nigeria blocks a CSO for requesting implementation status of regional projects nominated for his people. Also a set back for Freedom of Information Act (FOIA),” he tweeted.

Abdullahi Lame expressed dissatisfaction with the action of the lawmaker. “What @TrackaNG is doing to Nigerian citizens calls for a support from all of us. As long as we mean well for our country. With them surely the polity will be sanitised gradually as exemplified @dino_melaye reaction. Regressive
