A political group in Nigeria has described Akin Osuntokun and his sponsors as desperate because they are envious of the meteoric rise of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

The Initiative to Save Democracy (ISD) explained that Osuntokun is a man that cannot point to one thing he has achieved or done for the South West and the Yoruba people.

“Why do we allow ourselves to be fooled by persons like Osuntokun who has not contributed anything to the Yoruba land? He is a parasite, he has not one input and if he claims he does, let him point to it.” Sunday James Akinloye, President of ISD said.

He said Osuntokun is not different from the Yoruba’s that stood against Chief Obafemi Awolowo from becoming President of Nigeria during the 1979 elections. “We all know how it ended, when people like him regretted their actions were begging for forgiveness after vehemently standing in Awolowo’s way all for their greedy, selfish reasons and not for the sake of the people.

“That is what they want to try again 40 years after in 2019, but I can assure you that Osuntokun and his sponsors have failed. We cannot allow ourselves to be bitten twice by same slimy serpents who are after their self interest.”

Akinloye explained that the presidential election tomorrow is between good and evil. “I’m surprised that some Yorubas seriously think Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and his boys are working for their interest, no they are not”.

“They are working for themselves. They know that they will go to jail after President Buhari is re-elected because he has vowed to probe the $16 billion wasted on power by previous governments”.

“He has also vowed that he will probe all the mismanagement of the past but that is not the only thing, he has denied them of the oil wells that they used as their banks and the treasury which they looted freely”.

He explained that for  the16 years that the opposition was in power, they ruined the country, stressing that, no rail lines worked and that all major economic routes were never built or fixed.

“These greedy old men achieved nothing during their 16 years reign. They filled their bank accounts and enriched their friends and family while they were there. Just because they have been denied from stealing our money they are now very desperate, and they will do anything it takes to continue robbing Nigeria blind.

On describing Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as a glorified houseboy in an interview published in Punch Newspapers, Akinloye said they are just envious. “Look at the records of Osuntokun and that of the VP and you will know it’s like comparing hell and heaven. The difference is crystal clear.

“If Osuntokun is born 100 times he can never be anywhere near where the VP is in any ramification of life. Who is Osuntokun? What has he achieved in his life?” Akinloye quizzed.

He said Nigerians will put Osuntokun and his kind to shame during the elections, while warning that every plan to rig the election will not be allowed.

“All their plans will be frustrated by God’s grace, they are desperate and they will say anything to fuel violence and discord but God is by our side and he will put all enemies of Nigeria to shame”.
