Spanish international Pedro has signed a new one year contract extension at Chelsea.

The winger has played a crucial role in our Premier League and FA Cup triumphs during his time at Stamford Bridge so far, and he has now signed on until 2020.

Pedro said: ‘It is very good for me, I am really happy here in the club, with my team-mates, the supporters and the club in general.

“It’s important for me to continue with Chelsea, I am comfortable here and want to win new titles and trophies. I want to help the team, score goals, and I repeat, I am really happy.”

Club director Marina Granovskaia added: ‘We are very happy to secure Pedro’s services for another year.

Pedro arrived at Chelsea in the summer of 2015 and scored on his debut against West Bromwich Albion.

The Spaniard was outstanding in his second season at Stamford Bridge, netting 13 goals in all competitions including memorable long-range stunners against Tottenham, Bournemouth and Everton, twice being awarded the Premier League’s Goal of the Month award.

He featured 35 times in the Premier League as they lifted the title in style.

Last season, the 31-year-old added an FA Cup winner’s medal to his extensive collection, and it was he who nodded in the deciding goal at Leicester in a tense quarter-final success in that competition.

Pedro has played 131 times for Chelsea so far, scoring 28 goals. He has begun the current pre-season in fine form, netting in our games against Perth Glory and Inter Milan.
