National light welterweight champion, Rilwan “Baby Face” Babatunde, has vowed to add the West African Boxing Union (WABU) welterweight title to his laurels when he takes on Djossou “Agoy” Basile of the Republic of Benin at GOtv Boxing Night 14.

The event, slated to hold at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Lagos, will feature seven fights across weight divisions.

Speaking while training in Lagos on Sunday, Baby Face said he is sure of seeing off his opponent’s challenge with minimal fuss.

“Basile will not last more than four rounds. I am doing everything to ensure that is the way the fight will go. I am training harder than before and he has no chance against me.

“I want to take him to the fourth round because of the fans, not because he merits it,” said Baby Face.

In the headline bout of the event, Waidi “Skoro” Usman will take another shot at the African Boxing Union (ABU) featherweight title when he faces Kenya’s Michael Nyawade.

In 2015, Skoro’s attempt to win the title was thwarted by Uganda’s Edward Kakembo.

‎Another fight with the potential of a blockbuster is the national lightweight challenge duel between Prince “Lion” Nwoye and Oto “Joe Boy” Joseph, reigning African Boxing Union and Commonwealth Africa lightweight champion.

Also on the card is a national lightweight boxing title bout featuring the flamboyant Rilwan “Real One” Oladosu against Kazeem “Ijoba” Badmus.

The best boxer at the event, which will be broadcast live on SuperSport in 47 African countries, will go home with N1million cash prize and the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy.
