Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has played down the idea that Erling Haaland might be an immediate target should Manchester City be relegated.
In an interview with BILD on Sunday, Hainer was asked if Bayern Munich would move for the Norwegian striker in the event City were pushed out of the Premier League due to their ongoing financial charges case.
“We have Kane, Olise, Diaz, and more. We scored over 120 goals last season. So, I think we are very well equipped in attack,” Hainer said.
The Bayern chief stressed that the club has no need right now to bolster its forward line, which already includes Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Luis Díaz.
He did, though, leave the door slightly ajar for the longer term. “If we’re talking about the future in a few years, then there will be a new situation, and we’ll see,” Hainer added.
Harsh penalties, potentially even relegation, are still being considered while any appeal is pending.
