Erling Haaland raised injury worries when he limped off during Norway’s 2-1 loss to Portugal in the Nations League.
The Manchester City forward signaled to the bench to be taken off in the 67th minute of the Group A4 match.
Having scored seven goals already this season, the club will wait for more updates as they get ready for Sunday’s Premier League trip to Liverpool.
This will be their first match since they were found guilty on all charges connected to breaches of the Premier League’s financial regulations. The city has filed an appeal.
Haaland and Norway endured a third straight Nations League defeat on Sunday, with Goncalo Ramos netting a late winner for Portugal, who secured their spot in the last eight.
The hosts had to rally from behind after the visitors went ahead in the 36th minute.
Brentford defender Kristoffer Ajer brought down Martin Odegaard’s cross on his chest and then struck a clean half-volley into the top corner from the edge of the box.
Yet just two minutes later, Joao Cancelo fired in a spectacular shot on the bounce from a similar distance following Nuno Mendes’ long throw-in.
Haaland came close for Norway, sending an effort wide, before Jorgen Strand Larsen took his place.
However, it was Ramos who clinched a fourth consecutive win in the competition, poking in from close range off Joao Felix’s lay-off with 11 minutes remaining.
Portugal finished with 10 men after winger Francisco Conceicao was sent off in the 87th minute for two quick bookings for dissent.
It marked their third match in a row without Cristiano Ronaldo in the side, after the country’s record scorer left the camp last week following his omission.
Manager Jorge Jesus intends to talk the matter over with the 41-year-old forward but said on Sunday, “If he wants to, he’ll return to the national team.”
With two games remaining in the group stage, defending Nations League champions Portugal now sits six points ahead of second-placed Denmark, who defeated Wales 1-0, while Norway is at the bottom of the group.
