Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has declared that Iran will not surrender to the United States, accusing Washington of targeting civilian infrastructure and essential supplies to pressure the country into submission.
Pezeshkian made the statement on Saturday in a post on his official X account amid escalating military exchanges and mounting economic pressure on Iran.
“If Americans are warriors, let them face our valiant military forces. Why wage war on civilian infrastructure, food supplies, and livelihoods?” Pezeshkian wrote.
“If they’re human, why deny people access to water, food, and medicine? Our people can’t be bullied into submission. Iran won’t surrender.”
Pezeshkian condemns attacks on civilian infrastructure
The Iranian president said restrictions and strikes affecting food, water and medical supply networks were worsening the humanitarian impact of the conflict.
He accused the United States of using pressure on civilian infrastructure and essential supplies as a means of weakening public morale and forcing Iran to make concessions.
Pezeshkian questioned why military forces would target civilian facilities and supplies rather than confront Iran’s armed forces directly.
Iran rejects pressure to surrender
Pezeshkian said attempts to force Iran into submission through economic hardship and damage to essential infrastructure would not succeed.
He stressed that the Iranian people would remain resilient despite the pressure, insisting that the country would not be bullied into surrender.
