Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Solade said that he once accepted money to pretend to have a physical impairment during a staged church miracle service.
Solade revealed this in an interview with Feel Right News TV, which was broadcast on Wednesday, recounting an incident that occurred when he was still a student and had yet to establish himself as a popular actor.
According to the veteran actor, he was recruited to play a cripple during the army and compensated for his efforts.
“I have been used for a miracle then, when I was not popular. I acted as a cripple, they paid, I used the money to drink, then I was a student,” Solade said.
The actor stated that the encounter occurred in his early years, before he became a well-known figure in Nollywood.
Solade, on the other hand, refused to reveal the identity of those implicated, citing their continued survival.
“The people involved are still alive; I just don’t want to mention names,” he said.
His revelation has brought to light the subject of staged miracles and the alleged employment of individuals to provide the illusion of divine healings at religious ceremonies.
Solade’s testimony includes a firsthand remembrance of an incident he claims he was involved in as a young student, long before his acting career gained significant notice.
