    FIFA to continue on investor plan despite criticism

    FIFA responded to critics on Friday, vowing to press ahead with an “open and democratic” consultation with stakeholders on a proposed private investment plan.

    The governing body of European football, UEFA, has stated that it is prepared to boycott the World Cup in protest at FIFA’s proposal to create a commercial subsidiary to run the organization’s major events and enable private investors to acquire holdings in the company.

    FIFA emphasized that all member associations should have the chance to evaluate the concept. the opportunity to assess the concept.

    “Nobody is selling football,” FIFA said in the statement.

    “This is not something FIFA would ever entertain.”

    FIFA said it had received feedback from confederations such as UEFA and CONCACAF, which governs North and Central America.

    “We respect the feedback and concern aired in public and reaffirm our commitment to an open and democratic consultation,” the statement said.

    “Our planned consultation process: Incorrect media reports disrupted our planned consultation process. by incorrect media reports. We will proceed with this consultation process to ensure that each (member association) has the ability to express its vote based on facts.”

    The World football governing body has stated that the proposal might generate up to $20 billion for the FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) initiative.

    If authorized, the project may offer each of FIFA’s 211 member associations with a one-time payment ranging from $8.0 million to $20 million.
