The management of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, in Kogi State, has expelled two students for alleged involvement in same-sex conduct.
In a statement issued by the Department of Public Relations, the institution also rusticated four other students for their alleged involvement in fighting on campus.
The punishment was approved at the 31st sitting of the University Senate, held at the Faculty of Law Lecture Theatre.
The disciplinary measures were taken based on the recommendations of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee.
In a letter signed by Eli Usman Gbadafu, the Deputy Registrar (Academics), the institution stated that the disciplinary actions were taken in accordance with the provisions of the Students’ Handbook, Second Edition, as amended in 2025.
The affected students include Onumoko Hamza, Abdulazeez Lukman Eneji, Favor Akowe, Simbiat Babamuharuna, Zainab Salami Omayoza and Sukura Bukola.
The university also reiterated its commitment to maintaining discipline, order and a conducive environment for teaching and learning.
The school authorities warned that they would not hesitate to take decisive disciplinary action against any student found guilty of violating the university’s rules and regulations.
“Students are therefore advised to familiarise themselves with the provisions of the Students’ Handbook and conduct themselves in accordance with the established rules and regulations of the University,” the statement added.
