The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, has confirmed the recovery of a Lexus RX300 belonging to retired broadcaster MS Kitan Oyesiku, who was allegedly killed alongside her security guard.
Ojajuni made the disclosure during an on-the-spot assessment visit to the scene of the incident, where he received updates from detectives overseeing the investigation.
The police commissioner said the vehicle, which had earlier been reported missing from the deceased’s residence, was recovered overnight by police operatives and has been secured as part of ongoing efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding the killings.
“It is worthy of note that the vehicle earlier reported missing from the residence, a Lexus RX300, has been recovered by police operatives during the night hours. The vehicle has since been secured as part of the ongoing investigation,” Ojajuni said.
He reiterated the Ogun State Police Command’s commitment to thoroughly investigating the case and ensuring that those responsible are identified, arrested and prosecuted.
The commissioner also extended his condolences to the family of Oyesiku and assured residents that all available resources were being deployed to track down the perpetrators.
According to him, investigators have already made significant progress, with further details expected to be made public as the probe continues.
The death of the retired broadcaster and her security guard has sparked concern among residents, with police intensifying efforts to establish the motive behind the attack and bring those involved to justice.
