The Ogun State Police Command has launched an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death of Kitan Oyesiku, a former Ogun State Television broadcaster, and her security guard at her home in Iyana Agodo Village, Owode-Egba.

On Sunday, the command verified the event in a statement issued by its public relations officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi.

According to Babaseyi, a resident reported strange movements near the property on Sunday, prompting police to examine the house.

Babaseyi added that preliminary investigations revealed traces of forced entry and disturbance within the home.

He went on to say that the security guard’s death was discovered initially at his duty station, and the former broadcaster’s body was later discovered inside her residence.

According to him, the deceased’s vehicle was also found missing from the premises, heightening the possibility of foul play.

He stated, “Police detectives were immediately deployed to the scene, where preliminary assessment revealed signs of forced entry and disturbance.

“During a thorough search of the premises, the corpse of the security guard was discovered within the security post, while the body of Ms. Oyesiku was later found inside her apartment.

“The victim’s vehicle was also observed missing from the premises.”

Babaseyi stated that the commissioner of police, Bode Ojajuni, has ordered a full-scale inquiry into the event, with detectives stepping up their efforts to find those responsible.

He stated that intelligence-led activities and surveillance had been expanded to strategic sites to determine the circumstances behind the killings and recover the stolen car.

Meanwhile, he offered his sympathies to the deceased’s families, OGTV management, and members of the media community, calling the situation unfortunate.

The leadership also advised citizens to remain calm and submit any relevant information that could help current investigations.

In September 2025, Chronicle NG reported that the Federal Capital Territory Police Command confirmed that a security guard and an ARISE News Channel presenter, Somtochukwu Maduagwu, were killed by suspected armed robbers in the Katampe area of Abuja.

ARISE News Channel management announced her death, stating that armed robbers attacked her home, resulting in her death.

Police reported in January that 11 suspects involved in the event were charged with criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, and murder.
