Real Madrid has announced Florentino Pérez as the winner of the club’s presidential election, winning a new term as president of the Spanish giants.

On Monday morning, the club’s Electoral Board published an official statement on the club’s website, saying, “With 100% of the in-person and postal votes counted, the candidacy headed by Mr. Florentino Pérez has won the elections for President and Board of Directors of Real Madrid.”

According to the Electoral Board, Pérez’s ticket earned 21,741 votes, or 65 percent of all ballots cast.

“The candidacy headed by Mr. Florentino Pérez obtained 21,741 votes, which represents 65%,” the statement said.

His opponent, Enrique Riquelme, received 11,814 votes, accounting for 35% of the ballots.

“The candidacy headed by Mr. Enrique Riquelme obtained 11,814 votes, representing 35%,” the Electoral Board added.

Real Madrid’s board of directors, including Vice Presidents Eduardo Fernández de Blas, Pedro López Jiménez, Enrique Sánchez González, and Enrique Pérez Rodríguez, will continue to be led by Pérez after his victory.

The newly elected board also comprises Secretary José Luis del Valle Pérez and numerous board members who will work with him during the new administration.

Pérez’s re-election extends his long-term leadership of Real Madrid, one of the world’s most successful football clubs, after receiving an overwhelming majority of club members’ ballots.
