President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Pastor William Kumuyi, founder and General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, on his 85th birthday.

Tinubu described Kumuyi as a great servant of God whose steadfast faith and dedication have molded one of Nigeria’s most renowned Christian ministries for over five decades.

In a statement signed and issued on Saturday by his special adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the president lauded Kumuyi’s impact on believers in Nigeria and around the world, saying that his voice, writings, and ministry had spread far beyond the church.

“As the convener of Global Crusade with Kumuyi, your voice has reached beyond the church walls and national borders, bringing hope and encouragement to millions across the world.

“Your writings have illuminated minds, inspired hearts, and provided timeless guidance to those seeking truth and purpose,” Tinubu said.

He also stated that Kumuyi’s ministry had a generational impact on families and leaders.

The president stated, “Your ministry and influence have transformed lives, restored families, inspired leaders, and strengthened the faith of generations of believers.”

Tinubu prayed for Kumuyi’s continued health and vitality, saying, “On this special day, I pray that Almighty God continues to grant you strength, divine health, peace, and abundant grace.”

Kumuyi, born on June 6, 1941, in Erin-Ijesha, Osun State, founded the Deeper Life Bible Church in 1973 as a campus fellowship at the University of Lagos, where he was a mathematics lecturer.

The ministry has since grown into one of the largest Pentecostal denominations in Africa, with congregations in over 150 countries.

Known for his strict doctrinal standards, evangelistic fervor, and personal discipline, Kumuyi has remained one of the most respected voices in African Christianity.
