The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has stated that its counter-terrorism operations in Borno State targeted known terrorist hideouts and supply structures in Biramiri, Gezuwa.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, the action was carried out in response to credible intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance information.
Ejodame stated that the coordinated precision strikes destroyed important terrorist installations and neutralized several militants operating in the area.
“The coordinated attacks destroyed key terrorist facilities and neutralized several fighters, further crippling the operational capacity of the insurgents,” he stated.
He stated that the ongoing air offensives had continued to instill fear and bewilderment among terrorists along the Sambisa axis.
According to him, intelligence assessments revealed increased concern and bewilderment among militants as constant shelling denied them freedom of movement and safe havens.
“The NAF, in concert with troops of Operation Hadin Kai and other security agencies, remains resolute in maintaining relentless pressure on terrorist networks while reinforcing its commitment to protecting innocent lives and restoring lasting peace and security across the North-East,” the statement added.
