Cristiano Ronaldo secured his first major trophy with Al Nassr by scoring twice in a decisive 4-1 win against Damac on the final day of the season.
His goals helped the Riyadh club clinch the Saudi Pro League title, their first since 2019, ending a seven-year wait for domestic success.
Ronaldo’s brace concluded a thrilling title race that had reached its climax after Al Nassr suffered a devastating stoppage-time draw against Al Hilal a week prior.
Sadio Mané and Kingsley Coman had earlier given Al Nassr a comfortable lead, but Morlaye Sylla momentarily cut the gap for Damac.
Ronaldo then grabbed charge, scoring from a tight-angle free kick, and added another close-range strike to elicit impassioned reactions from Al Nassr supporters.
For Ronaldo, the victory marks a significant milestone since his arrival in Saudi Arabia in January 2023, amid widespread speculation about his departure from European sport.
The 41-year-old had come under fire for multiple near misses in domestic and continental games, notably last weekend’s heartbreaking AFC Champions League Two final loss to Gamba Osaka.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner replied in customary manner, leading Al Nassr to Saudi football’s greatest title.
Ronaldo currently has 127 goals for Al Nassr in all competitions, and he maintained his incredible march toward the 1,000-goal milestone with goals 972 and 973 against Damac.
Ronaldo’s title-winning season also saw him score his 100th Saudi Pro League goal earlier this month, highlighting his impact in the region.
