Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan hosted Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen and his Galatasaray teammates after their Süper Lig victory.
Galatasaray continued their league dominance this season, earning their 26th title and finishing three points ahead of their closest challenger, Fenerbahçe.
Osimhen played a key role in the team’s championship run, scoring 15 league goals and assisting five times in 22 games. He also had seven goals and three assists in ten UEFA Champions League games until the Turkish team was ousted by Liverpool in the round of 16.
Following their Süper Lig victory, the entire Galatasaray squad was honored with a reception by Erdoğan.
Osimhen and his teammates, all dressed in suits, were welcomed to the Presidential Complex in Ankara, where they exchanged handshakes with the president.
Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek gave Erdoğan the club’s jersey during the visit.
If Galatasaray wins the Süper Lig title again next season, they will become the first club in Turkish football history to win five straight league championships.
Osimhen has had a tremendous career with the Turkish giants, winning three titles.
At the present, numerous European clubs are attempting to attract the striker away from Galatasaray.
The 27-year-old has been linked with moves to Chelsea, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich, but Galatasaray has remained committed to keeping the Nigerian forward.
