The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it would begin offering the “Bring Your Own Device” option for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in 2027.
Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar of JAMB, announced this on Monday during the 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions in Abuja.
According to Oloyede, candidates will be able to use their personal devices for the exam, but a flash drive will be inserted to prevent malpractice.
He explained that the option would be less expensive and easier to maintain, as well as address issues from candidates who frequently report that their computer shut down during the exam.
According to him, this measure was created to make the process more convenient while preserving the test’s integrity.
Enwere, who took the exam in Lagos State, chose Nile University as his first choice for studying computer science.
Ayomide Bamisile of Ondo State takes third place with 369 points.
He picked the Federal University of Technology, Akure, as his top choice for studying software engineering.
