Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Davido, has confirmed plans for a joint project with American R&B star Chris Brown, expected to be released next year.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Swift Conversations podcast, Davido shared details about the collaboration and his current direction in music.
He explained that his focus is shifting toward a more African sound while still leaving room for international features.
“The music I am making now is very African. In this next project, I am working with a lot of my original producers from back home.
“However, I am still American, so there will definitely be collaborations. Chris Brown and I have an album coming next year,” he stated.
The Davido–Chris Brown joint project has been in discussion for some time.
Davido first hinted at it in 2023, noting that both artists have recorded several unreleased tracks together.
Davido and Chris Brown first worked together in 2019 on the song Blow My Mind. Since then, they have collaborated on about five tracks, building a working relationship that has now led to a full joint album.
