Jafar Musa, an 18-year-old citizen of Niger State, killed Seyi Simon, a 25-year-old student of the Federal University of Education, Kontagora.
The event occurred on Easter Sunday in Kontagora LGA’s school hall during a student-organized party for freshly admitted students at FUE Kontagora.
Chronicle NG gathered that there was a disagreement between Musa from the Angwan-Gwari area of Kontangora and Simon, a student at the institution.
It was also revealed that Musa stabbed Simon with a dagger during the battle, and Simon was taken to Kontangora General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Musa was promptly arrested for further investigation.
Wasiu Abiodun, spokesman for the Niger State Police Command, verified the event and stated that the suspect had been arrested for further investigation.
“On 5/4/2026 at about 1.40 am, it was reported at A Div Kontangora that during a party organized by the students for the newly admitted students at FUE kgora in the school hall.
“There was a misunderstanding between one Jafar Musa, 18 years of the Angwan-Gwari area of Kontangora, and one Seyi Simon, 25 years, a student of the school.
“In the course of the fight, Jafar Musa stabbed the student with a dagger. The victim was rushed to the general hospital in Kontangora, where he was confirmed dead.
“The suspect was arrested for further investigation,” Abiodun said.
