Nollywood actor Zubby Michael has come under severe backlash over his comment on the recent attack in Jos, Plateau State.

Chronicle NG reports that marauding terrorists on Sunday attacked the Angwan Rukuba area of Jos, the Plateau state capital, killing no fewer than 20 people.

According to eyewitnesses, the terrorists stormed the community and shot sporadically as unsuspecting residents went about their normal activities.

Speaking on the massacre, Zubby in a statement on X, urged Christians to leave Jos.

”Christians should leave Jos,” he wrote.

His statement has attracted backlash from Nigerians, with many berating him over his advice.

Reacting to Zubby’s statement, a social media user, EF Mare, noted that Plateau State is a Christian community, and the indigenes should not be asked to leave the state.

“Plateau is predominantly a Christian state. Over 95% are Christians. Do you mean the indigenes should leave their state for strangers, or what is this guy saying? This guy actually needs education,” he wrote.

Sharing a similar sentiment, George Isaiah, in his statement, said, “How should Christians leave Jos? That’s their homeland. They’re the majority there. We should actually fight to protect them.”

Oladipo Kelvin criticized Zubby, saying, “How can you ask them to leave their land? For who? That’s the agenda for them to leave their land so that terrorists can take over, or what are we even talking about here?

“They go nowhere; that is their land, and they’ll defend it with everything they have got. Terrorism can never and will never reign supreme in the country. Nigeria must be defended for our future generation to live in.”

Deby Ochanya, in her reaction, alleged that the insecurity in Plateau State is a “religious war.”

She said, “Leave Jos for what? So you mean they should leave their ancestral land? This is a religious war to expunge Christians from the plateau; it’s time for Christians to fight and defend themselves, as these people have no care for human lives.”

Meshack Okorie urged the security operatives to expunge terrorism out of the state.

He said, “Terrorism should leave Jos, not the other way round.”

“Zubby Michael, you think everything is Nollywood,” Anwuli Joy noted in her reaction.

Chronicle NG highlights below more backlashes from Nigerians aimed at the Nollywood actor as seen on social media.

Bello Asuku, “What kind of nonsense talk is this? The majority of Jos residents are Christian, and you are asking them to leave? How now? I should leave my land for what”

Ofuonye Paul, “Leave Jos because of who? Bandits should leave Jos simple.”

Miracle John, “It’s like you don’t know the majority of the indigenes in Jos are Christians. So they should leave their native land and go where exactly? Will you offer them shelter in your own native land?”

Felix Nathan, “Jos is historically a Christian state. I am sure it’s still the majority in Jos. It’s just like asking Igbos to leave Imo State. And moreover, nowhere is safe in Nigeria.”

Jennifer Chukwukezie, “They should leave their land and go where? It means they have been defeated.

“Jos is a Christian state; if anyone is leaving, then it should be the terrorist Muslims.”

Ann Dimma: “This Zubby is slow. I have always said it. His discussion with Nkoli the other day revealed it, and this talk has sealed it all.”

Frank Urchman, “I do not understand you perfectly. Zubby Michael, because we said celebrities, influencers, and religious heads should lend their voices, doesn’t mean you’ll spew rubbish.”
