Beto and Iliman Ndiaye scored as Everton earned a comfortable 3-0 victory over Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.

Beto became the first Everton player to score twice in a single match at their new Hill Dickinson Stadium, with Ndiaye completing the win late in the second half.

Back-to-back home victories give Everton hope for their first European campaign in eight years, but Chelsea’s poor record continues with a fourth consecutive defeat in all competitions.

Everton dominated the first 45 minutes, with Beto catching Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sánchez in possession of the ball before being saved by a Jorrel Hato clearing.

James Garner, who gained his first England call-up on Friday, had a shot saved by Malo Gusto.

Chelsea then had several attempts denied, including one produced in open play for Joao Pedro, before a flurry of chances from the subsequent corner by Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella, and Wesley Fofana.

Everton did, however, open the score moments later when Garner threaded a pass through the defense, and Beto beat Fofana to the ball before lifting it over Sanchez for the first time with the outside of his boot.

Vice-captain Fernandez, who intimated this week that he might desire to quit Chelsea, hit an acrobatic volley that Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford stopped brilliantly shortly before halftime.

At halftime, Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior replaced Gusto with winger Alejandro Garnacho.

Fernandez came close for Chelsea again, curling a shot from outside the box, but Pickford saved it again.

However, it was Beto who celebrated again when his powerful strike squeezed through Sanchez following a stunning interception and 30-yard run upfield by midfielder Idrissa Gueye to seal the victory.

Chelsea brought on winger Estevao Willian and striker Liam Delap, who had been a David Moyes transfer target for Everton, but Iliman Ndiaye struck a stunning third goal into the top corner late on to secure a commanding win for the Merseyside club.

Everton presently sits seventh in the Premier League, just two points behind sixth-placed Chelsea, who could miss out on Champions League participation.

Chelsea will face Port Vale at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup quarter-finals on April 4 (17:15 BST). They then face Manchester City in the Premier League on April 12th (16:30).

Everton are without a game for three weeks before facing Brentford in the Premier League on April 11 (15:00).
