Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has been officially sworn in for a second term in office during a ceremony held at the newly renovated Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka on Tuesday.
Soludo took the oath alongside his deputy, Dr. Onyeka Ibezim, in a ceremony attended by notable dignitaries.
Some of the personalities at the event included Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, former Commonwealth Secretary-General Emeka Anyaoku, and Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, among other state governors.
The inauguration followed his victory in the November 8, 2025, governorship election, officially certified by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Soludo got 422,664 votes, defeating his closest rival, the All Progressives Congress candidate Nicholas Ukachukwu, who garnered 99,445 votes, while the Young Progressives Party candidate, Sir Paul Chukwuma, came third with 37,753 votes.
