Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain and forward for Al-Nassr, departed Saudi Arabia for Madrid, Spain, as tensions in the Middle East increased following US-Israeli strikes in Iran.

The 41-year-old left Riyadh late at night on his £61 million ($81 million) Bombardier Global Express 6500 private jet, according to the Daily Mail on Tuesday.

Following regional strikes, he is reportedly leaving. Two drones struck the US embassy in Riyadh throughout the night, and according to Iranian official media, a command and staff headquarters in Bahrain was also destroyed.

“Riyadh, where Ronaldo lives with his partner Georgina Rodriguez and their five children, has been affected by attacks linked to the regional conflict,” the report said.

The aircraft “departed Riyadh at 8:00 pm and arrived in Madrid at almost 1:00 am, flying a path over Egypt and the Mediterranean,” according to FlightRadar24.

The action comes after numerous Iranian leaders were supposedly murdered in US-Israeli military attacks in Iran on February 28, 2026. Iranian state media announced a seven-day national holiday and 40 days of mourning after confirming the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei early on March 1.

The Saudi Ministry of Defense said, “A limited fire broke out at the United States Embassy in Riyadh after it was hit by two drones,” noting the strike caused “minor material damage.”
