Saidi Balogun, the ace actor, has revealed how Bola Tinubu and his wife, Oluremi Tinubu, supported him after he was involved in a car accident.
In an interview with Oyinmomo TV, the film star recounted how the couple facilitated his medical trip abroad after he initially received treatment in Nigeria following the accident.
He described Oluremi Tinubu as someone he would never forget, noting that she regularly reached out to monitor his recovery.
Balogun said that when he asked why she supported him, she told him she believed his life carried a divine purpose and urged him not to thank her, explaining that helping him was her own way of seeking answers to her prayers.
“When I had an accident, President Tinubu and his wife stepped in and ensured I was taken abroad for treatment after I had already received proper care in Nigeria,” he said.
“That is why Remi Tinubu will always be an unforgettable person in my life. She constantly checked in on me.
“When I asked her why she helped me, she said I am God’s light that must not be dimmed. It was from her that I learned that if you take care of someone else’s child, God will take care of yours. She also told me not to thank her because helping me was her way of seeking God’s answer to her own prayers.”
The movie star disclosed that the accident occurred in Akure while he was returning from filming the final scene of a three-man cast project.
“At the time of the accident, I was working on film projects with one-man, two-man, three-man, and four-man cast formats. I was shooting the three-man cast film and had just one scene left to complete it,” he added.
“The marketer had said he would not pay the balance unless the film was completed. It was on our way back from shooting that final scene, along the Akure road, that I had the accident.”
Recently, Balogun addressed widespread criticism of the Tinubu administration, insisting that it is “successfully driving a transformative agenda for Nigeria”.
