The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expressed confidence that it will emerge as a dominant force in the 2027 general elections, regardless of whether it has serving governors among its ranks.

Senator Nazif Gamawa, the party’s National Vice Chairman, stated this on Monday while speaking with journalists in Bauchi.

Gamawa claimed that the absence of a sitting governor in the ADC would not impede its chances, noting how former President Muhammadu Buhari earlier beat an incumbent president without having governors on his side.

He said, “The people have already believed that a new political movement is the option, so ADC is the savior. We are giving them one blow.”

The party chieftain went on to say that the ADC was not having internal issues and encouraged lawmakers who felt deceived by their present parties to join the movement.

According to him, although other political parties have made nomination forms prohibitively expensive, the ADC would not follow suit.

“We are not going to be like them. We will give a chance to every well-meaning Nigerian,” he said.
Gamawa, a former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, expressed optimism that he and other leaders could reposition the ADC for victory.

He also assured everyone that if elected, the party would continue to be fair to the masses.

The ADC chief urged eligible voters to obtain Permanent Voter Cards and take part in the upcoming elections, emphasizing that voting is both a right and a responsibility.

He reminded Nigerians that if they do not vote intelligently, they will continue to bear the repercussions of poor leadership.

Gamawa further regretted that a few individuals had hijacked the nation’s politics and government, adding that the ADC was dedicated to mentoring young people interested in leadership and political participation.
