    Students in Abuja rush to evacuate FGGC over terrorist scarce

    Parents rushed to remove students from the Federal Government Girls’ College (FGGC) Bwari, Abuja, on Saturday as security concerns grew.

    According to AFP on Sunday, tense scenes emerged outside the school entrance, with parents hauling baggage, assisting their daughters in packing, and arranging immediate transportation home.

    Many students, some still wearing their uniforms, loaded their stuff into vehicles, while others assisted classmates who had not yet finished gathering their belongings.

    The rush followed the Federal Government’s announcement on Friday to close down 47 Federal Unity Colleges nationwide, including FGGC Bwari, due to rising insecurity in many regions.

    The directive was issued in a circular signed by Binta Abdulkadir, Director of Senior Secondary Education.

    The following is the complete list of affected schools:

    North-West:
    FGGC Minjibir, FTC Ganduje, FGGC Zaria, FTC Kafanchan, FGGC Bakori, FTC Dayi, FGC Daura, FGGC Tambuwal, FSC Sokoto, FTC Wurno, FGC Gusau, FGC Anka, FGGC Gwandu, FGC Birnin Yauri, FTC Zuru, FGGC Kazaure, FGC Kiyawa, and FTC Hadejia.

    Northeast:
    FGGC Potiskum, FGC Buni Yadi, FTC Gashua, FTC Michika, FGC Ganye, FGC Azare, FTC Misau, FGGC Bajoga, FGC Billiri, and FTC Zambuk.

    North-Central:
    FGGC Bida, FGC New-Bussa, FTC Kuta-Shiroro, FGA Suleja, FGC Ilorin, FGGC Omu-Aran, FTC Gwanara, FGC Ugwolawo, FGGC Kabba, FGGC Bwari, FGC Rubochi, FGGC Abaji.

    Southwest:
    FTC Ikare Akoko, FTC Ijebu-Imusin, FTC Ushi-Ekiti, and FTC Ogugu.
