    NCC chairman Senator Durojaiye visits President Buhari

    President Muhammadu Buhari received chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye at the State House in Abuja on Monday 13 November.

    Durojaiye briefed President Buhari on the activities of the Commission and presented a report to him afterwards.

    A tweet on the official account of Nigeria’s government read, “President Buhari received Chairman Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye, at the State House, Abuja.”

    Durojaiye was appointed chairman in August 2016 along with Sunday Dare who was appointed as Executive Commissioner, Stakeholders Management.

    Other non executive commissioners were Aliyu Sa’idu Abubakar, Clement Omeiza Baiye, Chief Okoi Ofem Obono Obla, Pastor Ezekiel Yissa and Senator Ifeanyi Ararume.

    Their nominations and subsequent appointments were in accordance with Section 8(1) of the Nigerian Communications Commission Act 2003.

    Senator Durojaiye was elected Senator for the Ogun East constituency of Ogun State, Nigeria at the start of the Nigerian Fourth Republic, running on the Alliance for Democracy (AD) platform.

    He took office on 29 May 1999.

    He also uses the tribal title Otunba as a pre-nominal style, thereby highlighting his position as a chieftain of the Yoruba people.
