There was chaos at an Area Court in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Thursday when a woman, Mulikat Yusuf, slumped after her husband, Ishaq Abdulganiyu, pressed on with the divorce.
Abdulganiyu informed the court that he was no longer interested in the marriage.
Earlier, Yusuf informed the court that she was not ready for divorce, stating that she had given birth to six children and did not know where she would go.
She slumped as she went out of the courtroom, having heard her husband’s divorce application.
The court officials revived her by spraying water on her.
The presiding judge, Mr. Toyin Aluko, instructed her to take advantage of every available chance to resolve the disagreement between her and her husband.
The matter was adjourned until December 10 for the report of settlement or hearing.
