Bolaji Idowu, the lead pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre, visited the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos on Friday to offer spiritual support to celebrity chef Hilda Baci as she attempts to cook the world’s largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice.
Moments before the cookout began, Idowu offered prayers and encouragement to Hilda Baci as he blessed the chef’s attempt to cook the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.
Baci, who made international headlines in 2023 by breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, is now holding the “Gino Jollof Festival” in conjunction with the gourmet brand.
The historic event will include a big pot measuring six meters broad and six meters tall, into which 250 bags of rice will be cooked for tens of thousands of visitors.
The festival, which organizers say has already drawn over 20,000 registrations, is free to attend.
Baci has also guaranteed attendees that the dinner will be “amazing and hygienic,” guaranteeing a record-breaking experience of Nigerian jollof on an unparalleled scale.
