The Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, Kano State, in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Police Affairs, has firmly debunked a recent statement by the Police Service Commission (PSC), which claimed that the ongoing admission process into the Academy has been concluded.

In a public disclaimer issued on Thursday, the Academy described the PSC’s July 31 notice as “misleading and inaccurate,” stressing that the application for admission into the 12th Regular Course Degree Programmes is still valid and ongoing.

According to the Academy and the Ministry, the admission process is being conducted in strict accordance with the guidelines of the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Federal Ministry of Police Affairs.

They noted that due process is being observed and all qualified applicants are encouraged to proceed with their applications via the official portal.

The statement, released by the spokesman of the Ministry of Police Affairs, Bolaji Oladimeji, further clarified that the PSC has no constitutional role or legal mandate over university admissions, including those conducted by POLAC.

As such, the PSC’s assertion carries no legal weight and should be disregarded by prospective candidates and the general public.

“All interested applicants and stakeholders are advised to ignore the disclaimer issued by the PSC. The online application portal remains open as earlier announced,” the statement emphasised.

This rebuttal is part of efforts to reassure applicants amid the confusion triggered by the PSC’s announcement and to maintain transparency in the Academy’s admission process.
