Afrobeat legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as “2Baba,” has tied the knot traditionally with Edo lawmaker Natasha Osawaru in a private ceremony.
In a video released on Thursday, 13 February 2025, 2Baba asked Natasha to marry him, putting an end to weeks of speculation about their relationship.
The singer had publicly declared his love for Natasha, dismissing claims that she played a role in his separation from Annie Idibia.
“Hon. Natasha has been dragged; she has been called all sorts of names; she has been labelled as a homebreaker,” he said.
“She is a young, brilliant, amazing woman, and she had nothing to do with what is happening between me and Annie in our marriage,” he added.
Natasha, who appeared emotional, did not respond immediately, but her reaction suggested she was overwhelmed by the moment.
Speculation had intensified after 2Baba was seen at the Edo State Assembly. A separate sighting of the duo at a Lagos club further fuelled rumours.
Earlier, the singer had dismissed rumours with a cryptic post: “To Whom It May Concern. #I don yarn my truth. Feel free to continue alleging. We shall all be alright.”
As the news spread in the early hours of Thursday, social media buzzed with mixed reactions. While some congratulated the couple, others questioned the timing.
For 2Baba, however, there was no doubt. “Yes, I love her; she is amazing, she is cool, and I want to marry her,” he said.
The “African Queen” crooner and his wife were seen adorned in traditional Benin attire.
The private wedding ceremony was attended by family members and close friends of the couple.
