2027: Yoruba nation has no true allies in the North, Nigerian man alleges

A social media user simply identified as Illedare has alleged that the Yoruba nation has no allies in Nigeria.

While clamouring for the Yoruba nation to vote in the next election for the interest of Yorubaland, Illedare urged the Southwest to stop being gullible to the antics of the North.

Illedare made the comment while reacting to a statement by a northern social media user simply identified as Waspapping, who called on the North to jettison any alliance with the Southeast in the 2027 general election.

Waspapping, in a statement on X on Monday, stated that the north should align with the southwest instead of the southeast because the Yorubas are “far better allies and trustworthy”.

”Dear Arewa, we may have our differences with the Southwest in interests, culture or bias, but they’ve proven to be better allies than those on the other side. They’re far better allies and more trustworthy than the ones you’re trying to hand the country over to,” Waspapping wrote.

In reaction, Illedare urged the Southwest not to be deceived yet again by the North.

He said, “North cannot lure us again with sweet talk. Omo Kaaro Oojire, from Awori land to Itskeri land, from Ilorin to Kabba to Lokoja, from the Atlantic Ocean to River Niger tributaries, from Osun River to River Benue, and across West Africa, don’t be deceived; you have no allies.”

In his reaction, another social media user, Praetor, urged the Southwest to work for the collective interest of the nation.

He mentioned that the region is the bastion holding the country together, and as such, the region should work for a “greater Nigeria”.

“The South West is literally the string that has held this country together all these years. We do well with all the regions and will continue to do so because we know what makes us stronger as a nation is bigger and more important than what divides us. Collective national interest for a greater Nigeria,” Preator said.
