Yoruba nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has described late former president of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari as a “criminal”.

Igboho, in a now viral video, described the death of the Nigerian elder statesman as a consequence of his “criminality”.

His comments come in reaction to the death of the former Nigerian leader, who died after a protracted illness in a UK hospital on Sunday.

Reacting to the death of the ex-president, Igboho alleged that the Katsina-born politician sent operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and troops of the Nigerian Army to attack and kill him in his house in the middle of the night.

Igboho, who narrowly escaped during the raid by the DSS on his apartment, appreciated God for sparing his life, while the former Nigerian leader is dead.

Describing the late All Progressive Congress chieftain as a “criminal”, Igboho urged Nigerians to learn from the occurrence, calling on Nigerians not to go after the lives of others.

Igboho, in the now viral clip, partly said, “Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I thank God for my life today. Buhari is dead. See life. Buhari, a criminal man who sent DSS and military to come and kill me in the middle of the night on July 4, 2021, died today. This is life.

“My people, we are supposed to learn from this. That criminal man Muhammadu Buhari is dead, but you see, I am alive today.

“I thank God – God, thank you for my life today. A criminal Fulani man with some stupid Yoruba people who ganged up in the middle of the night to take my life, but God said no. If God says yes, nobody can say no. God said no. Such is life. He is dead today. God, I thank you.”

The former president will be buried on Tuesday in Daura, Katsina State, with many dignitaries, including President Bola Tinubu, expected to attend.
