ADC not a threat to PDP – Bala Chiroma

Bala Chiroma, a People’s Democratic Party chieftain, has allayed his party’s supporters’ fears that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) could pose a danger to the ruling PDP in the Bauchi State election in 2027.

In an exclusive interview with journalists in Bauchi, Chiroma, who also serves as Governor Bala Mohammed’s Senior Special Assistant on Youth, stated that ADC will never pose a danger to the PDP in Bauchi or Nigeria.

According to him, “ADC is not a party like its counterpart, the All Progressives Congress. It is just like a union or association, as their name implies – an alliance of political parties, but not a party like the People’s Democratic Party with its complete structures in all the 774 local government area councils.

“Only the PDP has existed since its creation in 1998 and has never changed its name or allied with any political party.

“All its members are under the umbrella of the party, unlike APC and now ADC, which were all brainchildren of PDP – those that left the party due to their selfish interests.”

Chiroma went on to say that with only one year until the 2027 general elections in Nigeria and the party (ADC) unknown even to the average Nigerian, he wondered how the coalition planned to win elections without a single structure on the ground in the country’s 774 LGAs.

While reminding the electorate and PDP supporters that many of the ADC members were previously members of the PDP and had profited enormously from it.

The party that had done so much for them in terms of their current status and limelight, the PDP chieftain blasted them as tactless, questioning why they had opted to join the opposition and band together against the PDP.

Chiroma feels that the PDP is the only party capable of saving Nigeria from its current position.

He said, “I’m calling on Nigerians to forget about ADC and APC and come and join the only party with a clear vision, mission, and credibility to save this country.”

Chiroma’s outburst follows the mass defection from the party to the coalition ADC party in the state.

Meanwhile, the state chairman of the ADC in Bauchi, Hassan Haruna, disclosed that the party was still recording politicians with track records of influence in the state, including two ex-governorship candidates – Abubakar Sadiq and Halliru Jika.
