Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North, has come under fire from Nigerian carrier Air Peace for what the airline calls “unruly conduct” at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed Airport.

In widely shared videos posted on X , Oshiomhole is seen confronting airline staff and later sitting at the terminal gate in apparent protest.

According to Air Peace, the incident unfolded on Wednesday morning at Zulu Hall in Terminal 1 after the senator arrived late for a 6:30 AM flight to Abuja. The airline claims he missed the boarding deadline and then allegedly reacted aggressively toward staff.

“He arrived at 06:10 AM for a 06:30 AM flight. Boarding had closed, and the flight departed on time,” Air Peace stated. What followed, they say, was chaos.

The airline alleges that the senator physically assaulted staff, sealed off the terminal gate, and blocked other passengers from entering the facility—bringing operations to a standstill.

“This unacceptable behaviour disrupted ongoing operations and caused significant inconvenience to other travellers,” Air Peace said in a strongly worded statement. They say emergency plans had to be activated, rerouting passengers through an alternate terminal to prevent further delays.

Air Peace condemned the conduct as unbecoming of a public official, reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy for aggression or threats against staff.

“We urge all guests to remain civil and cooperative,” the statement continued. “Aviation runs on strict timelines and safety protocols—no one is above these values.”

The airline assured the public of its continued commitment to delivering safe, on-time services with discipline and respect at the core of its operations.
