Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officers brought businesswoman Aisha Achimugu to the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday, as ordered by the court.

Achimugu came about 11:35 a.m., accompanied by two female EFCC operatives.

The EFCC proclaimed her wanted in March following allegations of criminal conspiracy and money laundering.

On Monday, Justice I.E. Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja ordered her to appear in front of the EFCC on Tuesday.

The court also ordered her to appear before it on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

Achimugu was reportedly nabbed by EFCC agents after landing in the nation at about 5 a.m. and has been in their custody since.

On Tuesday, the EFCC detained the businesswoman at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

It was said that she was arrested at about 5 a.m., shortly after returning from London.

Her lawyer, Chief Chikaosolu Ojukwu, told our correspondent that Aisha Achimugu was apprehended by the EFCC about 5 a.m. on Tuesday after returning to Nigeria from London alone.

Ojukwu criticised the EFCC, claiming that the arrest violated a court order.
