The Federal Government has designated Thursday, May 1, 2025, as a public holiday to honour this year’s Workers’ Day celebration.
The government reaffirmed the importance of peace in driving industrialisation and economic progress.
Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, stated this in a statement issued on Tuesday on behalf of the Federal Government.
Tunji-Ojo praised workers for their diligence and sacrifice, stating that their efforts are largely responsible for the country’s greatness and the respect it demands in the international community.
”There is dignity in labour; the dedication and commitment to the work we do is vital to nation-building”, the minister said.
Tunji-Ojo advised workers to adopt a culture of creativity and productivity.
He encouraged workers to improve the level of their trade in order to drive and upgrade the government and ensure that all Nigerians benefit to the greatest extent possible from the country’s wealth.
“This administration is fully committed to the security of life and property of every citizen and foreigner in the country,” he assured the citizens.
“While wishing workers a happy celebration, the Honourable Minister urged Nigerians to keep hope alive as the present administration of President Bola Tinubu is committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda he has promised,” he added.
