Real Madrid missed a crucial opportunity to extend their LaLiga lead, settling for a 1-1 draw against Osasuna in a tense encounter at El Sadar.

The result keeps the title race wide open, with just two points separating the top three teams.

Coming off their dramatic midweek comeback against Manchester City, Carlo Ancelotti rotated his squad ahead of the Champions League second leg.

Despite the changes, Madrid started strong, breaking the deadlock in the 15th minute. Federico Valverde sprinted down the right flank and delivered a low cross, which Kylian Mbappe converted with a clinical first-time finish.

Osasuna, determined to extend their unbeaten run, nearly equalized before halftime when Aimar Oroz’s powerful shot forced Thibaut Courtois into a fine save.

However, Madrid suffered a setback in the 40th minute when Jude Bellingham received a straight red card for dissent, leaving Los Blancos with ten men for the rest of the match.

Osasuna capitalized on their numerical advantage after the break. Just before the hour mark, Ante Budimir was fouled by Eduardo Camavinga in the box, sparking furious protests from the Madrid players. Budimir calmly converted the penalty, leveling the score.

With a man down, Madrid adopted a more defensive approach, prioritizing counterattacks. However, neither side could find a breakthrough in the closing stages, resulting in shared points.

The draw hands Barcelona and Atletico Madrid a chance to overtake Real Madrid in the standings, while Osasuna climb to seventh place.
