Ajuri Ngelale, the former Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, and his wife have welcomed their fifth child.

Ngelale disclosed this in a statement on his social media pages yesterday that he was humbled to announce that the Lord has blessed his family once more with the arrival of a fifth child, who was born on his mother’s birthday following a most mercurial journey to health.

“The birth of my fourth son, Micah Esoi-Obari Ngelale, evokes profound gratitude and joyful praise to our Creator whose mercy and loving kindness is reaffirmed as endless and indescribable.

“Both mother and child emerged from the process in good health.”

On September 7, 2024, Ngelale embarked on an “indefinite leave of absence to frontally deal with medical matters” affecting his immediate, nuclear family.

“While I fully appreciate that the ship of state waits for no man, this agonizing decision — entailing a pause of my functions as the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity and Official Spokesperson of the President; Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, and Chairman, Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen — was taken after significant consultations with my family,” he said.

Ngelale said he “looks forward to returning to full-time national service when time, healing, and fate permit”.

Chronicle NG reports that Ngelale never returned to the presidency for national service after his fall out with key presidency officials — Femi Gbajabiamila, the chief of staff; Hakeem Muri-Okunola, principal secretary; and Victor Adeleke, chief of state protocol. Seyi Tinubu, who — together with Gbajabiamila — engineered his appointment as special adviser on media and publicity.

On July 31, 2023, he was appointed special adviser on media and publicity.

On May 19, 2024, he was appointed the special presidential envoy on climate action.
